Older Sydneysiders have the highest rates of inflammatory bowel diseases ever recorded in Australia

The prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease in a metropolitan area of Sydney—348 per 100 000 population—was found to be the “highest ever reported in Australia”, with the rates in older age groups even steeper, according to research published today in the Medical Journal of Australia.
